what
is the greenpepper?
The greenpepper is a magazine for
social justice and environmental issues, a tool for groups working
toward social transformation. It is conceived as an essentially participatory
project and only exists through numerous collaborations and support.
The editorial collective is changing yearly and for each issue, and
so the magazine; is not a static entity. If you want to take part
in coordinating and publishing this magazine for a year, starting
in April 2004 [and get funding for it], or are interested in participating
to future issues, or collaboratinjg in one way or another, get in
touch!
DISTRIBUTION
If you take at least 10 copies of
the greenpepper and sell them on for us, you can keep 25% of the money.
It would be fantastic if you got your school or local library to subscribe,
or the bookshops in your town to sell the magazine.
MAGAZINE EXCHANGE
If you produce a magazine, send
us a copy every issue, and we'll do a free swap. Yours will be displayed
in the Counter Information Agency info café - an aspiring social
center in Amsterdam.
SUBSCRIPTION INFO
By subscribing to greenpepper you
help us to cover the printing and postage costs and ensure the future
of the magazine.
The greenpepper is sold using the Ecorates System. Look at the table
fo find out about the subscription costs for any amount of issues
like this:
2.60 [ecorate for your country]x[number of issues]. Usually four issues
appear every year. This is a double issue, so double the cost if you
want to order any number of this issue.
THE ECORATE SYSTEM
The aim of the Ecorate System is
to enable EYFA and those organizations which share the concern of
ecolomical inequalities between countries, to use a fair exchange
rate. It is an alternative 'currency' based on the actual cost of
living in each country [not an actual currency - please send payment
in euros or a readily exchangeable currency]. In the case of the greenpepper,
differences in the price levels, exchange currency rates and purchasing
power might otherwise siscourage or impede subscription by people
from some countries.
EYFA makes a survey once a year among activists to collect information
about the cost of living in each country by looking at the prices
of different basic products, which is then used to calculate the Ecorates.
As you can imagine, the ecorates system is based in trust, solidarity
and altruistic collaboration. If you want to help updating the Ecorates,
also if you have any questions, contact ecorates@eyfa.org. phone +31-20-6657743
or write EYFA: Postbus 94115, 1090GC Amsterdam, The Netherlands
More information about the ecorates system can be foung at www.eyfa.org |
